Orders Currently Closed Until August 2018 Due To Relocation

Dressed by Tess is proud to offer full range of hat repair, refurbishment and alteration services for your much-loved and well-worn favourites

There are a number of ways you can have your hat fixed by us, including:

 - Post it directly to the studio

Prior to posting, please contact us with a detailed description of the work you’d like done (as best as possible, and, don’t worry, we’ve had to decipher some pretty vague emails in the past, so if you’re not sure what terms to use, we’ll figure it out together), and plenty of pictures, so that we can assess your hat and give an estimate of the cost and lead time for your alteration. Once the quote has been approved, a postal address will be provided, as well as any extra instructions required.

 - Drop off/ collect in person

As with the process for posting a hat to us, please email through a description and images of your hat, and we can provide an quote for your approval. If you live in the Melbourne area, we can arrange a consultation time for you to drop off and collect your hat. In some cases, the work can be done while you wait (work that requires any more than an hour to complete will need to be left with us). However, for quick jobs, you’re more than welcome to stay for a chat and a cup of tea, etc. There’s also a wonderful cafe around the corner, and Highpoint shopping Centre is only 15 minutes drive away!

- Bring it to one of our associated stores

If you frequent the Melbourne CBD you’re also more than welcome to drop your hat in to one of our highly esteemed retail partners for assessment. Minor alterations may be able to be done in-store by trained staff, such as steaming, brushing and adding chin-straps to a hat. For more complicated work, they will look over your hat and provide an estimate for the work. We collect once a week, and you are guaranteed a collection date within 2 weeks of your drop-off date. Please be aware, all costs are paid directly to the associated store, and a small additional call-out fee may apply.

The Nasty Fine Print:

Unlike for our custom made service, there are no consultation fees charged for repair and alterations. For posted and in-person consultations however, the full cost of the repair (plus return postage, if required) must be paid upfront before the item is received for work. This can take the form of an EFT transfer, cheque sent with the hat, cash on drop-off, or an over-the-phone credit card transaction.

In the case of in-person drop-offs, if Any commissions not paid in full within 60 days of written notification of completion will be seen as abandoned goods, and will be sold, donated, or repurposed at the discretion of Dressed by Tess.
